Tradewise Group was called to investigate reports that a relatively new HYD Diesel engine supplied to the construction plumbers was showing signs of oil and coolant leaks. We tested the system and confirmed the cause to be a faulty head gasket.
We also found that the engine was running at maximum speed, which is not uncommon in residential complexes less than 10 years old.
Diesel Driver Replacement
A diesel driver replacement with extended warranty offered a better solution to the client in this case. Spares for cheap engines are often not well-supported. Tradewise is always willing to support the products it sources from its many local supply partners.
Fire Pump driver replacements are often challenging due to access issues that aren’t a problem during construction. Sometimes, the only way to do things safely is to dismantle equipment to eliminate the risk posed to the team.
The Owner’s agreed to upgrade the engine with a more reliable POWERMaXX driver operating in accordance with the pump duty power requirements at a more responsible speed that reduces unnecessary load and improves engine performance and longevity.
Daniel completing the final touches to a hydrant diesel motor replacement for a residential property client. This included:
- Complete removal of the original diesel driver
- Pump base modifications
- Exhaust modifications
- Wiring to existing pump controller including commissioning of the new motor
